Statement
My work engages symbolic and metaphysical systems in dialogue with contemporary global events. Earlier projects were rooted in geometric symbolism and ideas of unity, duality, and interconnectedness, exploring cosmic and human genesis through spatial installations. Those works emphasized oneness and duality — micro and macro, one and multitude, female and male, life and death as fundamental principles of existence. Several audio-visual installations focused on birth, both human and cosmic, as a metaphor for creation.
My practice is grounded in spatial art that transforms the gallery environment through installations and site-specific interventions. Often, space initiates the concept, while the idea itself determines the choice of materials. I combine diverse materials within a single work, where color carries symbolic meaning, particularly red and blue, representing male and female principles.
Over time, my focus has shifted toward wars, pandemics, displacement, and social instability. I create objects and installations that reflect fragility and the psychological condition of our era. Working with razor blades, matches, paper, industrial elements, and delicate surfaces, I use their physical and symbolic properties as integral parts of the work’s meaning. During the pandemic and periods of isolation, I expanded into photography and photomontage to explore fragmentation and altered realities.
The notion of a metaphysical dimension — realities beyond the visible — continues to shape my practice. Across its different phases, my work remains an ongoing search for balance between the spiritual and the material, resilience in times of uncertainty, and the enduring possibility of hope.
